    WHAT IS AUDIO RESTORATION?

Audio restoration is the process of taking a single track of audio that has been compromised in the original capture and needs to be RESTORED to ORIGINAL INTENT.

"ORIGINAL INTENT" is the key phrase. The question must be asked, what was the recording intended to be?

Below are some examples of some wonderful sounds that didn't quite capture the original intent of the artist, and then how we were able to restore it.

    WHAT ARE THE POSSIBILITIES?

Example 1 : An Electric Guitarist Had a Bad Pedalboard Day

Sometimes, no matter how much we prepare for recording day, something still goes awry, and the only thing left to do is press record and stay connected to inspiration. This is a brave thing to do, and I commend any artist who chooses to create despite unfortunate circumstances.

Example II : A Flock of Birds that Wanted to Shine Through

When recording outside, there is so much potential for the sounds to be less balanced than you would like. In this case, the bird songs were beautiful, and the oceanside was also beautiful, but the sheer power of the waves was overwhelming the bird calls. We restored it to a more pleasant balance. The ocean wind is still present, but more subtle.
